Give me something good. I want some twisty roads to test out the new suspension, and I’ve gone up towards Leavenworth plenty of times already this summer. Have tomorrow and Sunday off, down to camp a night too. Recommendations?

Baker Lake has some good camping areas, though I’ve not been up there in a few years. The drive through Concrete up toward Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is reasonably twisty, I think.

For day trips, you might consider Bellingham via Chuckanut Drive. Very twisty!

410 to Sunrise on Rainier, back roads to La Conner/Anacortes, Port Townsend/Sequim if you don’t mind waiting for a ferry.

Tillamook, OR is a nice place. They have a cheese/ice cream factory you can tour and a beautiful state forest. Route 6 cuts right through it and looks to be a nice drive.

IIRC route 6 is amazing

HWY 20 over Sherman Pass. Plenty of camping sites along that stretch of road.

I never drove it, when we visited we came southward to Tillamook from Seaside.

6 is ok. Too much traffic unless you ride it during the week. Plus the road surface has gotten pretty bad in places after this last winter.

Meh. It’s good and all. But there’s too much traffic lately.

I’m riding to Astoria tomorrow. The 202 from there to vernonia is awesome. Then you could do estacada to Detroit lake. Both can be done in one day. You could camp Detroit lake and still have time to drive all the way down here and back.

Ooooooh yessssss. I love Tillamook. I’ve been craving Huckleberry ice cream since. And there’s so much cheese! <3

Canada? Canada’s good. Canada!

I know it’s sorta-towards Leavenworth, but if you angle through the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie area to pop up into Magical Timbit-Land, there’s some good, fun roads up that a way. Less nuts than the main I-5 crossing, too—err, at least that was the case a couple decades ago.

Probably a bit late, but Lake Diablo is great. The road up north is a bit boring taking I-5, but you can stop off at Deception Pass for the night or keep heading towards Lake Diablo and take advantage of the first come first serve camping spots. Then head over the pass in the morning. Those pass roads have some wicked switchbacks, Lake Diablo itself is also a mesmerizing emerald color.
